As summer morning sun streams into the beautiful Botanic Gardens, join other Downs enthusiasts in this stunning setting to discover which hidden gems have arrived in our special moth light trap overnight! Together we’ll use our detective skills to identify these secret stars of the night with the expert help of Bristol Museum’s entomology lead, Ray Barnett – drawing on his 50 years of experience and knowledge!
Following the focus on our overnight visitors, we’ll all set off together for some fieldwork at the ‘Dumps tussocky grass habitat’, to explore Clifton Down’s day-flying moths in situ among the vibrant meadow flowers and scrub patches. This exploration will help us to monitor the ecology and health of this ancient grassland.
