Ever heard the mesmerising melodies of native birdsong and been stumped as to what is singing so sweetly? Or out on a walk with friends – are you dying to share your expertise on native songbird identification?
Ed Drewitt, well-known author and expert naturalist will share with us his top tips for identifying birds by delving deeply into the make-up of their distinctive songs. We’ll start with some early fieldwork as our expert leads us out on a thrilling bird walk on the Downs discovering the extraordinary, varied patterns of birdsong and focussing on many of our common Downs species. Back at the Botanic Garden site we’ll have lunch (not provided) and look in more depth at the theory over a cup of tea and biscuits.
